My Pregnancy Fact: Snoring

I started snoring for the first time in my life--thanks to the more estrogen produced during pregnancy. It contributes to swelling of the mucous membranes that line the nose and it even creates more mucous than normal...EWWW

Poor hubby, I can totally understand him. When he snores I don't find anything sexy about it, therefore I don't expect him to find me as sexy as a hippo in a thong, LOL when I snore. But for the certain nights I've had to wake up in the middle of the night and poke him with my elbow for him to stop....I guess it pays off...how mean...hehe

Research shows that the stuffiness that often triggers snoring is common and temporary during pregnancy and that I should sleep on my side and elevate my head slightly...that doesn't help!!

My Pregnancy Fact: Baby Kicks

I am not sure if they're exactly baby kicks--I am sure at this stage in pregnancy baby's jerks and jolts are normal to be felt. They are pretty strong and boy are they constant!

I feel like baby is practicing martial arts inside my womb and in the mornings his initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged nudges. I have also noticed a pattern in his activities; somersaults in the am to wake me up and in the evening strong baby kicks.

A lot of times I feel like I have some hyoper wiggly worm swimming inside my belly. And then I feel the merest flutters (like butterflies) and the most insistent slugs (like baby doing acrobatics) and when baby gets the hiccups it feels like I have pop corn popping in there lol! It is definitely a very joyful moment.

My Pregnancy Fact: Gas

I can make my husband blush...(and he doesn't blush that easily)...seriously.

Let me just start with: It happens to the best of us...so I heard through the grapevine.With that said, according to the research i've done; crazy pregnancy gas is unfortunately not always something us pregnant ladies can avoid. With our bodies working double-time making hormones like progesterone and relaxin, muscle tissue around our bod will start to relax – especially around our GI tract. This causes the food we eat to move through our system more slowly, thereby causing bloat. Altogether, these factors definitely prove to be a pretty nasty combo.

My words of wisdom: Lay off the gassy foods as much as I can, since they’ll just add to troubles that I am not looking forward to. Other than that, all I can do is grin and bear it—and hope that my hubby's a good sport.

My Pregnancy Fact: Starts with a D

Discharge...ewww (referred to as leucorrhoea)

Gross, I know. But it’s the truth and this is experienced by all pregnant women, so no shame.
 Since my body is making way more estrogen now and causing more blood to flow down to my lady bits...means excess discharge is bound to happen.

And while Dr. R said it’s totally normal, it sure ain’t pretty. So my new best friend: the pantiliner. 

My Pregnancy Fact: Constipationville...

...though not an interesting topic to discuss about, it is very common during pregnacy. And let me just make it clear...this part is NOT fun and it is very painful.

All the healthy eating = fruit, vegetables, whole grain foods and water-do nothing for me.

My doctor said I could just go grab something over the counter- a.k.a. stool softener.
As I started reading the labels of the 10+ brands I found (from capsules, liquid gels to liquids) they all said the same thing..."if pregnant contact your physician".

 I then realized I should just try something natural...by that I mean eat PRUNES and live by the motto
"When you gotta go, you gotta go..."!

It worked! Prunes rock!

Pregnancy...thy name is exhaustion

...my sleep inducing hormones have been surging through and the pressure of my growing uterus on my bladder sends me scurrying to the bathroom at least 8 times during the night.

My Pregnancy Facts: Dreams Galore!

So not sure exactly how long I've been having them but every night I am experiencing the doozies of weird dreaming. I've heard and read I should thank my hormones...

I had a dream 2 nights ago-the first and only that I could actually remember.

In my dream I was playing with my camera and taking pictures of my belly (well I was more like rubbing the camera against my belly and taking pictures). And on each picture that I took I could see baby Scerbo.
Though I couldn't see its gender in the snap shots-It was pretty exciting because I was able to take pictures of baby Scerbo in different angles. It was like my own at-home u/s system.
