My Pregnancy Fact: Constipationville...

...though not an interesting topic to discuss about, it is very common during pregnacy. And let me just make it clear...this part is NOT fun and it is very painful.

All the healthy eating = fruit, vegetables, whole grain foods and water-do nothing for me.
My doctor said I could just go grab something over the counter- a.k.a. stool softener.
As I started reading the labels of the 10+ brands I found (from capsules, liquid gels to liquids) they all said the same thing..."if pregnant contact your physician".
I then realized I should just try something natural...by that I mean eat PRUNES and live by the motto
"When you gotta go, you gotta go..."!
It worked! Prunes rock!

A Mother's Joy

...begins when new life is stirring inside her.

A tiny heartbeat is heard for the first time and a playful kick reminds her that she's never alone.

Pregnancy...thy name is exhaustion

...my sleep inducing hormones have been surging through and the pressure of my growing uterus on my bladder sends me scurrying to the bathroom at least 8 times during the night.

My Pregnancy Facts: Dreams Galore!

So not sure exactly how long I've been having them but every night I am experiencing the doozies of weird dreaming. I've heard and read I should thank my hormones...
I had a dream 2 nights ago-the first and only that I could actually remember.

In my dream I was playing with my camera and taking pictures of my belly (well I was more like rubbing the camera against my belly and taking pictures). And on each picture that I took I could see baby Scerbo.
Though I couldn't see its gender in the snap shots-It was pretty exciting because I was able to take pictures of baby Scerbo in different angles. It was like my own at-home u/s system.

Mommy to-be Quiz at 12 Weeks!

How far along? 12 weeks 1 day

Total weight gain/loss: I just weighed in at my normal 112 lbs.
No gain weight in 3 months yay! Well, really no gain weight in the past 3 years!

Maternity clothes: none, although I am starting to rock my jeans zipped but unbuttoned...

Stretch marks: not looking forward to them...and hoping to inherit my mother's genes (she had 4 pregnacies, zero stretch marks and a lean belly!)

Sleep: I can't sleep too well, I toss and turn all night not to mention the 20 times I must empty the baby bladder.

Best moment this week: reaching my 12 week mark and noticing some baby bump!

Movement: non yet :o( but I feel lots of cramps and I associate it with baby moving and exploring it all inside of mommy.

Food cravings: Tuna salad sandwich on whole wheat and thin crust Pizza with extra sauce and extra mozz.

Gender: mom's instinct; feels like a girl...

Labor signs: ha! not even close...198 days to go!

Belly button in or out? In and hope it stays that way ;o)

What I miss: besides the loads of energy I used to have "non-existent now", nothing else really. I am totally over the moon right now and enjoying it all!

What I am looking forward to: Monday's appointment and seeing my baby again.

Weekly Wisdom: I carry many snacks and lots of water...and if I could carry around a portable toilet, believe me I would!

Milestones: 12 week mark!

What is the baby up to? As I move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.

Baby Bump!

I've always had a lean stomach but in the past week I've started to notice some baby bump, so exciting!
It is in the mornings that I can tell what is baby bump and what is not, since later in the day I get the baby bloat :o(
I'll be even happier when I get the full baby bump and look more like an expectant mother...can't wait!

I have started measuring my belly, what used to be a 26'...this morning on my 12th week mark it measures at 31'.
Weight Gain= None! Still at my normal 112 lbs.

Milestone: 12 Week Mark!

Today I am 12 weeks!
Our baby is the size of a Plum.

These 12 weeks were a breeze; no morning sickness at all, just a little more tired than ususal...or shall I say extremely tired? I have started to experience shortness of breath and lots of cramping...oh exciting.

But, I am very excited to be going thru this process and feeling all the changes that are and will be happening to my body. All the symptoms make me happy just knowing it is all part of my little plum growing inside of me.

Dinner and announcement!

Tonight I had dinner with one of my good friends. I planned on both a creative and sweet way of giving her the news.

We both have a great year ahead of us; She's getting married and approx. 50 days later I'll be delivering my first baby. Here's the little something I wrapped up for her to give her the news I am expecting...

2nd appointment...

Today I saw Dr. R for the 2nd time since I have been diagnosed "pregnant". I was told I was to leave a urine sample each office visit. Nice, because I can empty out this bladder every 5 minutes if needed be.

In this appointment Dr. R gave me the bloodwork results, yes from the 7 tubes of blood drawn from my thick juicy veins. I didn't know what the procedure was, but I was secretly hoping for a second u/s to see my little baby again...and I got to see my little lime! Blood tests came back perfect...what a relief.
Baby now is the size of a lime, amazing how much they grow and develop in just 2 weeks. Heartbeat was 164 bpm and baby measure at 11wks 3 d - 4.58cm. Baby was also doing a few flips and kicks and I'd even say a few fist pumps, baby is rocking it inside of mommy...unfortunately mommy doesn't feel anything moving yet. Dr. R said maybe at 20 to 24 weeks...so patiently waiting to feel my baby moving inside of me.
Dr. R said it was safe if I wanted to start sharing the news...I think I will wait until I hit my 2nd trimester-but next up for announcement is my dear friend R.

Glad this appointment went great!

I am anxiously waiting...

my 2nd appointment with Dr. R on 2/15.
I guess the anxiety kicks in more because I have no idea what to expect. I've never been pregnant before and didn't have any symptoms I could've associated with pregnacy.

The bloat and the booby soreness, I associated with Aunt Flo on its way and the tiredness with...oh well I'm getting a bit burnt out or just the changes that seem to start appearing when you're past your 30's... I now take all those symptoms very positively-I am not old, just growing a baby inside of me, yay!

And the anxiety continues to invade...I can't wait to hear the results and that evrything is and will be just fine.
